Alasdair McLellanAdele’s 25 is having a resurgence. The album could be headed back into the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, thanks to its debut on streaming services on June 24.
According to Billboard, experts are predicting the album could earn between 32,000 and 37,000 equivalent album units this week. That total takes streaming into account. Previously, only three of her singles were available for streaming: “Hello,” “When We Were Young” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”
Last week, the album came in at number 12 on the chart. It’s sold 8.8 million copies in the U.S. to date.
ABC/Rick RowellIt didn’t take long for someone to plunk down millions for Adam Levine’s former New York City loft. Observer reports that less than three months after going on the market, the sprawling Soho pad Adam shared with wife Behati Prinsloo sold for $5.5 million.
The couple listed the apartment in April, shortly after announcing that they were expecting their first child. They had purchased the place in 2014.
It’s no wonder the property went quickly -- it has exposed brick walls, high ceilings, a master suite with a walk-in closet and a bath with a Jacuzzi tub. Not to mention two very famous former owners.
The couple has also put their Beverly Hills estate on the market for $17.5 million.
ABC/Lou RoccoBritish singer Rita Ora was hospitalized this Wednesday after a photo shoot, on account of exhaustion.
Ora shared a picture on her Twitter and Instagram accounts of herself lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to an IV machine. Attached to both pictures, she writes, "Today was pretty tough but I'm getting through it thank you all my fans and friends for the support! I love you! The Instagram picture includes the following hashtag, #exhaustion is real"
The entertainer recently signed a new recording contract with Atlantic Records UK.
Image Group LA/ABCLorde may never be "Royal," but she sure knows how to use the money she got from that song. The singer has donated tens of thousands of dollars to a New Zealand charity that feeds hungry kids.
On the donation page for the charity, which is called Fuel the Need, Lorde writes, "Hope this helps a little bit. Lots of love from a former kid who is passionate about all kids having access to food at school." She posted the donation of $20,000 New Zealand dollars -- that's $14,500 -- under her birth name, Ella Yelich O'Connor.
The founder of the charity, Manuel Dalton, told the New Zealand news site Stuff.co.nz, "I looked at my notifications and saw one from Givealittle and had to do a double take at seeing $20,000. I wasn't aware who Ella Yelich-O'Connor was and when people told me it was Lorde, I said 'Gosh, oh my Lord!'"
The program provides school lunches for kids who don't have access to them. Each meal costs three dollars, according to Dalton, and meals for one school year requires $30,000 in funding.
Lorde is currently working on the follow up to her acclaimed debut, Pure Heroine.
Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImageLooks like Taylor Swift will be shopping for a bridesmaid dress again. Her longtime bestie, Abigail Anderson, has gotten engaged.
Abigail announced the happy news on her Instagram this week, writing, “Tonight I answered the easiest question I've ever been asked. Without any doubt and without fear - I am so excited for this next chapter in our lives.”
Taylor and Abigail have been friends since high school. The singer even named-checked her BFF in the song "Fifteen."
Back in February, Taylor was the maid of honor for another childhood pal, Britany Maack.
Taylor may not be engaged yet but she’s certainly getting serious with new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston. The two enjoyed a romantic Italian getaway this week, and have both already met each other’s parents.
Charles Sykes/NBCSara Bareilles is going from being a Tony nominee to providing the musical accompaniment to TV's biggest fireworks display of the year. She's just joined the lineup of NBC’s annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.
Another new addition to the lineup is Pitbull, as well as DNCE, who'll no doubt perform their hit "Cake by the Ocean." They join previously announced guests Meghan Trainor, country superstar Kenny Chesney and 5 Seconds of Summer on the bill.
The festivities kick off Monday, July 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and if you miss it, you can catch it again at 10 p.m. The fireworks display this year will include more than 56,000 effects and will spell out "USA" in the sky.
No surprise, Iggy’s feeling super-betrayed. “This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don't even know who the hell it is I've been loving all this time,” she also tweeted, adding, “People in this world really are f***** up.”
Iggy’s tweets come right on the heels of news Nick and Iggy split because Young's baby mama, Keonna Green, is pregnant with their second child. “I have never even been told by nick that his baby mother is pregnant so if this is true I'm finding out via E news,” Iggy also tweeted today, before dropping the real reason they broke up.
Iggy announced her split with Nick a week ago last Monday in an Instagram post, hinting at possible infidelity by writing, in part, "Unfortunately, although I love Nick and I have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him -- It's become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to.”
Since then, rumors about reasons for the split haven’t stopped, with Iggy occasionally responding to them, such as denying she had Nick’s car towed, or kicked him out of the home they shared.
Nick posted his own somewhat cryptic Instagram video last Monday, showing him singing Drake’s “Redemption,” seemingly addressing Iggy.
Jason Derulo on "Greatest Hits"; ABC/Byron CohenJasonDerulo singing a Michael Jackson classic and Pitbull teaming with '80s rockers REO Speedwagon are just some of the highlights of tonight's premiere episode of ABC's Greatest Hits, a six-week music series featuring artists of different eras collaborating, honoring songs of the past or performing their classics.
"It's really a celebration of music, but it's a specific period from 1980 to 2005, which was a pretty rich period in American music," says executive producer Ken Ehrlich [ERR-lick].
Greatest Hits is co-hosted by rising country star Kelsea [KELL-see] Ballerini and Arsenio Hall. "We literally have the greatest artists [and] the greatest hits, and nobody's there to promote their product, concert [or] album,” says Arsenio. “They're just there to love on music!"
Tonight's episode focuses on the music of 1980 to 1985, and features Jason Derulo singing Michael Jackson's "Human Nature," and music veterans Kenny Loggins, Rick Springfield, Kim Carnes, Kool & the Gang and Ray Parker Jr. singing their signature hits: "Footloose," "Jessie's Girl," "Bette Davis Eyes," "Celebration" and "Ghostbusters."
Tonight's artist matchup is Pitbull and REO Speedwagon: they're doing a mashup of the band's hit "Take It on the Run" and Pitbull's current single "Messin' Around," which is based on the REO song. Pitbull calls singing with the band "a true honor," and says of the '80s, "Our escape...our addiction, was music. That was our social media."
Upcoming episodes of Greatest Hits will feature duets between the Backstreet Boys and Meghan Trainor, and Wiz Khalifa and LL Cool J, to name a few. Co-host Kelsea Ballerini will also perform a mash-up of Britney Spears, Shania Twain and Maroon 5 hits, and Miguel will sing Steve Winwood's #1 '80s hit "Higher Love."
Brian Rasic/WireImageOneDirection's Louis Tomlinson has filed for joint custody of his son, People magazine has confirmed.
A source told TMZ that Briana Jungwirth has been "inconsistent" in giving Louis access to five-month-old Freddie Reign.
Louis wants to be a real father and present in Freddie's life, noted the source, adding that the 1D member is not just seeking joint physical and legal custody, but a 50/50 split in terms of the division of time each spends with their son.
Tomlinson is paying Briana around $15,000 a month in child support, and a judge will now set whatever amount is deemed appropriate, according to the gossip website. Louis also is reportedly renting a one million dollar house for Briana and their son in Calabasas, California.
ABC/Fred LeeSia is one of several musicians who've just been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the body that hands out the Oscars. The main benefit of Academy membership is that you get to vote on who wins the Academy Awards each year.
On Wednesday, the organization extended 683 membership invitations to musicians, actors, filmmakers and executives alike. Of that group, 41 percent are people of color and 46 percent are female. You may recall that the lack of diversity among nominees earlier this year spawned the #OscarsSoWhite campaign.
Sia was invited because she's written music for several films, including Shakira's song "Try Everthing" from Zootopia and "Salted Wound," on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. She also wrote Rihanna's new ballad "Sledgehammer," which is featured in the new Star Trek movie. Other musicians invited include Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and Mary J. Blige.
In other Sia news, she interviewed her frequent video star, Maddie Ziegler, for the new issue of Seventeen. During their chat, Sia says, "My goal is to give girls and boys a different idea of expression. It’s not always about looking pretty or cute. It’s about expressing yourself however that may be, even if that’s being silly or goofy or weird."
Speaking about celebrity, she tells Maddie, "There’s this image of us on the red carpet, being really fancy, and then there’s the reality. I’m in bed doing this interview. I just played tennis, the three dogs are on the floor -- and you know I’m picking up poop at some point today.”
ABC/Lou Rocco; ABC/Randy HolmesTheir relationship is already sacred. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston continued their Roman holiday Wednesday with a trip to the Vatican, UsWeekly reports.
The two, coordinating in light-colored outfits, toured the Pope’s home and held hands as they walked around. Earlier in the week, they took a private tour of the Colosseum and enjoyed a romantic meal nearby.
Taylor ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, meanwhile, is enjoying a vacation of his own. He was spotted in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on a private yacht with a bevy of beauties.

She revealed that the song is called “Body Say” and also showed off the single’s sexy artwork, featuring her topless in a bed with her bra strewn off to the side.
Demi previously told USA Today that her new sound is “definitely sexier.” She added, “It’s more adult and there’s also some songs on my album that have more of a country influence. We’ll see where it goes -- you never really know until it’s finished.”
Lester Cohen/Getty Images via ABCIf you love Rihanna and her new single, "Sledgehammer," then get ready -- the music video is coming to IMAX theaters Thursday!
"#SLEDGEHAMMERVIDEO tomorrow! 1st ever #IMAX music video debut at 9AM EST," Rihannatweeted, along with a nearly thirty-second clip from the video.
The music video for "Sledgehammer" marks the first of its kind shot only with IMAX cameras. "I have been a fan of Star Trek since I was a little girl. Being able to be the first director to shoot a music video entirely with IMAX cameras and use this revolutionary technology to explore a different type of new territory was a dream come true," says director Director Floria Sigismondi.
"Sledgehammer" was written for the Star Trek Beyond movie, set to debut in theaters July 22.
Jason Merritt/Getty Images via ABCIt seems Calvin Harris is doing just fine since his breakup with Taylor Swift. While Taylor gallivants around Europe with her new beau Tom Hiddleston, Calvin is enjoying a Mexican getaway with a bunch of beautiful babes.
The DJ-producer posted some Snapchat photos of himself with the group of women on a private yacht in Cabo San Lucas. “I write songs,” he captioned it. His pick-up line, perhaps?
Calvin was traveling with his longtime friend Emil Nava, who directed the video for his Rihanna collab “This Is What You Came For.”
ABC/Randy HolmesJohn Mayer is single and ready to mingle. The singer dished on his romantic life -- or lack thereof -- on Watch What Happens Live Tuesday.
"I'm ready to roll,” he said of his relationship status. “I'm older and more mature than I've ever been. The stage is set, I’m excited for a meet cute at some point. So I’m single and I’m excited about the future.”
John’s most recent high-profile relationship was his on-again off-again romance with Katy Perry, which ended for good last year. Katy has since moved on with Orlando Bloom.
For now, John is just enjoying being able to spend more time with his friends. He even talked about hitting some gay clubs with WWHL host Andy Cohen.
RCA RecordsNo wedding reception is complete without a spin of Kool & the Gang's classic "Celebration," but in a new survey of wedding DJs conducted by Billboard magazine, that song ranks right at the bottom of the most popular tunes played at weddings across the country.
Billboard asked wedding DJs in 13 different cities, including Las Vegas, New York, L.A. and Washington, D.C., for their lists of their most frequently played songs. The publication then compiled a list of the 100 most popular tunes, and surprisingly, "Celebration" is #100. So what's #1? "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
The list includes nearly every musical genre, from classic rock, to country, to pop, to new wave, to Latin, to hip-hop. The top 10 is a cross-section of eras and styles, and includes some surprisingly recent tunes. Two songs you'd think would rank higher -- Pharrell's "Happy" and Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" -- came in at #15 and #16 respectively.
Here's the top 10:
10. Isley Brothers -- "Shout Part 1," a.k.a. "That song from Animal House" 9. Michael Jackson -- "Don't Stop til You Get Enough" 8. Journey -- Don't Stop Believin'" 7. Usher, Lil Jon & Ludacris -- "Yeah" 6. Earth, Wind & Fire -- "September" 5. Whitney Houston -- I Wanna Dance with Somebody" 4. Justin Timberlake -- "Can't Stop the Feeling!" 3. WALK THE MOON -- "Shut Up and Dance" 2. Taylor Swift -- "Shake It Off" 1. Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars -- "Uptown Funk"
Kevin Mazur/WireImage for MTV'N SYNC, get ready for people to walk all over you. The top-selling boy band -- Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez -- is just one of the musical acts who'll be receiving their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
Along with 'NSYNC, another famous boy band, New Edition, will get a star, as well John Legend, rap legend Ice Cube, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Hall & Oates and the late Latina singer Selena, who was murdered by her former employee in 1995. Jennifer Lopez portrayed Selena in a 1997 biopic, and Selena Gomez was named after her.
Exact dates for the Walk of Fame ceremonies have not yet been scheduled. After a celebrity has been selected to receive a star, they have two years to schedule their appearance in Hollywood to attend the ceremony.
David Becker/Getty Images via ABC"Work from Home" has become Fifth Harmony's biggest hit to date, reaching the top 10. The popularity of the single helped their sophomore album, 7/27, debut in the top five on the chart. Why is the song such a big hit? Simple, say the girls.
"I think just the change of music that’s happened throughout the years, simplicity is becoming the most favorable thing and most effective thing," Dinah Jane tells ABC Radio. "So I think that’s what resonates best with people. They love songs they can sing back with, you know? So I feel like that’s what’s so fun about it."
Even still, the girls had no idea that the song would become as big as it has.
"We definitely did not predict the success of it at all," Lauren Jauregui tells ABC Radio. "I don’t think you really ever can with a hit so we’re really excited about how well it did and how well people received it."
Fifth Harmony are now on tour overseas. The North American leg of their tour starts on July 27, in keeping with the title of their latest album.
